This was a strange month. The gubbings started to increase and as you can see from the graph, I was at the 17th of the month staring down the barrel with just £29 to show for my efforts. I’m just so pleased that I managed to knuckle down for the last 13 days of the month and come out with at least at respectable figure even though I was still way off my target.
Matched Betting Continues to Take a Back Seat
Well it did for the first half of the month anyway. Truth be told, it wasn’t even work that got in the way this time.
It was just pure, unadulterated, laziness.
As I am sat here writing this up, I still don’t know why I didn’t complete an offer from the 6th until the 12th of September. Whilst it’s true that I was still very busy with my new service that I launched for work last month, there was still plenty of time to get through some offers, and I have no idea why I didn’t.
Obviously when you are on £29.04 on the 17th of the month it’s time to have a quiet word with yourself. I restructured my days and started getting up a lot earlier so that I could be finished with a least one hour of the working day left to attack offers and the results quickly began to show.
In fact, from the 17th to the 30th of September I made £261.98, if I had committed to the first half of the month with the same gusto as the second half then I would be writing about a £500+ month. I have kept to my routine so far in October so I’m hoping for the first time in a long time I can report a month over my target of £416.67.

Gubbings Starting to Stack Up
Another negative result from this month was losing Ladbrokes, who actually had the manners to tell me via email. For those of you already gubbed by Ladbrokes you’ll know that it means you will almost certainly lose Coral immediately afterwards and vice versa as they are the same company.
Well Coral did but they didn’t have the decency to tell me! I also received two more “stealth gubbings” from Betfair Arcade and Betfair Casino. Well at least I think I have since every offer I find on Oddsmonkey “isn’t available to you at this time”. I think this may be also the case at Paddy Power (same company) but I do get allowed to complete the odd promotion so not sure what is happening.
Luckily I have only lost sports at Lads and Coral which means I can still complete their hybrid free spins offers as they count as casino offers and I can get stuck into their daily wager £20 for a £2-£100 bonus offers and any other casino offers that pop up.
Matched Betting Profit Highlights
In terms of sports offers there weren’t any stand out performers, but William Hill dug me out of a hole as usual. Their scratch of the day offers kept me going, often handing out £10 free bets on a daily basis at the weekends and on midweek football, which is unusual in the current climate of matched betting.
I also had some very large underlays come in on the Flash Odds for the horses. I now only underlay these price boosts; I never take the guaranteed profit. Yes, that does mean there are several times where I make nothing but I feel like I am coming out better off (I haven’t compared profits yet). I was surprised by how many times it came in.
I was making a killing of the Lads £10 risk free offers on the football but obviously that caught up with me as I got hit with the gubstick shortly afterwards.
Advantage Play Rescues Poor Month
Unsurprisingly casino offers help save my month. I made £150.88 from advantage play, therefore, as is increasingly the case, I made more from low-risk casino offers than I did from sports offers last month.
There was one particular offer that was kind to me, in a place that I haven’t really spent much time before, William Hill Macau. The daily offer was simple. Wager £5 for £5 on Golden Toad, and for some reason I kept hitting big bonus rounds and wild spins which meant I ended the offer with a nice profit for all of the 5 days that it ran.

Apart from that I made a decent chunk on the William Hill daily “Wager £10 for £5 bonus” offer on live casino. I also did very well out of the “Wager £20 get 20 free spins” on Call of the Valkyries over at the aforementioned Ladbrokes casino.
Goals for October
I really want to have a good crack at this month. I don’t have anywhere near the level of work commitments that I’ve had over the last 2 months so, for the first time in a long time, I want to post a month of profit that is over my original target of £416.67. That equates to £13.44 a day which I feel is very achievable.
In terms of the challenge overall I have 3 months to make another £844.16 which is only £281.39 a month. I have a habit of cursing myself, but sod it, I think I will make this comfortably before the deadline of 1st January 2019. It’s time to get my head down and build up a comfortable lead so I can get this wrapped up before Christmas.
My new routine is working a treat so far and I want to continue it into October. If I carry on at anything like the rate I was going at for the back end of September, then I will have no problem with reaching £500 never mind £400.

I earn 100% of my income online, which isn’t something many people can speak to. Thus, this website is going to slowly become much broader in scope.
