How Matched Betting Paid For My Holiday

Why not share this article with your friends and colleagues?

I thought I would post something a little bit different today. I just wanted to demonstrate how matched betting has literally changed my life by allowing me to afford things I couldn’t previously!

Although we often went as a family when me and my brother were kids and then teenagers, (we had a friend of a family friend who owned a chalet in a France) once we were at university age that all came to a stop. In fact, the last time I went skiing was to Val D’Isère in December of 2013, we went as a large extended family group as a celebration for my Dad’s retirement.

It’s something my girlfriend and I have wanted to do for a long time but every time we looked at buying a holiday we winced at the cost compared to summer holiday destinations and instead of hitting the slopes we always opted for the sun and sand of the Mediterranean.

Well it was all change this year thanks to my matched betting profits. Although they didn’t quite stretch to cover both of our expenses, they made it stress-free as it didn’t involve dipping into any savings whatsoever (or even wages in my case!).

Holiday Costs Breakdown

In terms of the cost I think we did really well as we got a last minute deal with Crystal to a country I’ve never skied in before, Austria. The accommodation only cost £385 per person for a week, an absolute steal for an alpine resort in peak season (early march).

Next up was the outlay on the lift pass. No matter where you ski, I always feel these are extortionate, but this particular pass gave us access to not just 1 resort, I think it was about 28 resorts! The Ski Amadé area is the second largest in Europe so €235 seemed an incredibly reasonable price (we only had time to ski 3 out of the 28 available).

I was luckily able to borrow some ski boots so I didn’t have to rent any but of course that still left me needing to hire both skis and poles. This came to £120 which again I thought was very reasonable (only £20 a day).

Finally, as the chalet was self-catering we had to sort ourselves out for food and drink, which, if you have any experience of ski resorts, you’ll know is much more expensive that your usual places that aren’t placed halfway up a mountain. We did very well by buying breakfast in bulk and the start of the week, making our own packed lunches to have slope-side, and cooked two meals out of the 6 nights we were there. Which meant I could spend a little more on the meals out and Aprés-Ski drinks. I just about managed to keep inside my £250 budget.

Those of you good at mental arithmetic will have worked out that my holiday cost was around £1000 (give or take £10-£30 for currency exchange rates). See why we winced? If you were smart with the timing of your bookings, you could easily squeeze two all-inclusive holidays somewhere in the Med out of a grand (£500pp). But we had an absolutely fantastic time and I enjoyed it even more knowing that matched betting paid for it all!

How was I able to afford it without spending any of my own money?

Well matched betting and advantage play of course. As many of you already know, after googling how to make some extra money online I stumbled across the Oddsmonkey website, signed up to their free trial, and made £40 in the space of one evening (tax-free!).

From that night on I haven’t looked back and I have made over £2500 so far in extra income on top of my full-time wage without ever putting in more than an average of one hour per day. Some days (even weeks) I don’t do anything at all and I still manage to net a nice profit which I can spend on things like this ski holiday.

How do I learn how to do Matched Betting?

I have written many tutorial articles on this website which is more than enough to get you going. They cover how much money you will need to get started, I am also available for coaching and support via email over at hello@advantagedlife.co.uk if it all feels a bit daunting.

I know I was nervous getting started thinking it was some kind of Ponzi scheme or scam. Trust me, it’s not. Just like anything in life it’s takes a bit bit of studying, hard work and practice to maximise the profits available to you but you should be flying within 3 months.

I take the majority of my profits to spend every month, but if you are in a position where you don’t necessarily need the extra money (super-jealous by the way) then you will witness the amazing effect compounding will have on your profits. If you kept every penny of your profits in your matched betting “pot” then you could easily be looking at making £5000 in 6 months.

This is because you will be able to take on larger liabilities with your bets and start completing offers that require much higher up-front investment. Now if I told you that in six months’ time you would be £5000 richer with only a requirement of one or two hours of (enjoyable) work per day wouldn’t you be interested?
