As always, if you’ve landed here and don’t know what matched betting or advantage play is, you may want to head to the Matched Betting and Advantage Play explainer pages. Secondly you might find my previous post useful on what you’ll need to start matched betting.
December’s Matched Betting Profits
December’s matched betting profits came to £359.69. As expected I only managed to do matched betting for 3 weeks of the month as I took the festive period off completely (although I did find 5 minutes to do a cheeky Sky Bet price boost for £5 profit on Christmas Day!). I’m fairly happy with the results, bringing in nearly £100 extra profit than November (albeit with an extra week to play with, click here to see November’s matched betting profits).
In terms of the matched betting profits breakdown, I doubled my advantage play profits to £64.12 for the month, my biggest win was from a Ladbrokes Casino “Eye of Horus Wager £20 for £10 bonus” offer which returned £28.60. I wagered the £20 as was in real trouble around £17 down but then a bonus round late on saved me bringing me back to £2 up after wagering. I then managed to win £26.60 from the £10 bonus wagering on Golden Tour.
Everything else was made on sports, with a real emphasis on price boosts. These are such good value because they take about 30 seconds to complete and can give you anywhere from £10 to £15 (if underlaid) or £2 – £5 guaranteed profit. That works out at a mouth-watering hourly rate, and if you have a big enough matched betting bank to be able to put £50 – £200 back stakes on these boosts you can quadruple those aforementioned numbers above!
Total Profit: £359.69 Average Transaction Value: £2.70 Days Active: 21
Talking you through the graph, I got off to a solid start on the 2nd with a big underlay on a William Hill price boost coming in giving me £15 profit, followed up immediately with a £10 free bet from them. Then it was just a case of steadily grinding though small offers just building the profit slowly.
Profitable Casino Offers
The two more noticeable spikes are the Coral/Ladbrokes Bet and Spin offers. This is where you simply have to place a £5 bet on any Saturday Premier League game and in return you get a free spin on Frankie Dettori Magic 7 for every goal scored. I believe I hit a few bonus rounds on these offers and usually ended up with about £15 each time from a qualifying loss on the bet of usually between £0.10 – £0.30! This is such a good offer, I hope it continues for a while because everything you win is almost pure profit and when you hit a bonus round you’re quids in!
The largest spike towards the end is the Ladbrokes Casino offer I have already mentioned above. As you can see I think I must have been getting in the festive spirit towards the end of the month as the graph looks rather flat, think I only did a few price boosts here and there to top up in between desperate shopping trips and wrapping presents!
Matched Betting Mistakes
Only one mistake to report this month (I can spot them easily in my spreadsheet…they are usually labelled something along the lines of “MISTAKE!!!!!!!”) which didn’t actually put much of a dent in my matched betting profits. This was on the Betway E-Sports Bet £25 get £10 free bet weekly objectives. I didn’t read the terms close enough and got a match for a team at 1.45 when the minimum odds to qualify were 1.75, a lesson to ALWAYS read the terms on both Oddsmonkey and the bookmaker just to make sure before you place any bets.
Looking ahead to January this will be the first month of my £500 to £5000 challenge and also my first full month of matched betting! I know we are hosting friends the first weekend so matched betting will have to be squeezed in early on that Saturday morning before everyone wakes up. Apart from that I have a pretty decent schedule work wise and should be able to hit some more time-consuming casino offers. I’ll update you with my results in early February, fingers crossed for a good start!
